When I learned that twins were going to be born into the family, I began to wonder what is needed, that did not yet exist in Canada that our Canadian children could truly benefit from. Something that would make a positive and permanent difference in their lives! For a number of months, I brainstormed with the mother-to-be while listening, reading and searching the net for some clue that might spark an idea of what to do. Finally, it was a “one liner” that I had heard on a Canadian radio news broadcast about the high rate of debt that our Canadian youth are carrying today, that hit home with me. After more brainstorming and more research, I believed that I had found the right path to follow. It very quickly became a passion of mine and I proceeded with creating a business plan – a plan to create learning tools for children residing in Canada. I chose a business name, created products and gave these products appropriate names – fitting to the principles that I had already realized for Pocket Change Inc.

I immediately began a 24-7 working schedule and created learning tools to help children, living in Canada, learn about Canadian money values. I wanted children to be able to realize their dreams without a cloud of debt looming over their heads. What better way, I asked myself, than to create Canadian learning tools for this purpose? Family and friends liked the ideas that I had presented to them and very soon began volunteering their services to my new company, Pocket Change Inc. I could not have done this without their continuous, relentless, energetic, and intellectual assistance and support.

I have since created Canadian learning tools, designed to teach children, residing in Canada, about Canadian money values. My long-term goal is to have the Pocket Change Organizer and all of our learning tools, used by all children – youth and adults - residing in Canada.
